This was made for my Independent Production class as a sort of “thesis” project to close out my Associates degree. I had 10 weeks to work on this and made about 98% of everything that went into this project. The video itself is a mix of the ending from Chainsaw Man, the official music video and my own work. The editing for this project included color grading the footage and stitching all the assets, animation and footage together. The motion graphics for his project include many of the transitions and the Part 3 puppets as well as all of the typography. I didn’t use my usual drawing style for these assets, but instead used a modified version. The shading is much simpler; I used a different brush for the lineart and I followed the default 3D body Clip Studio PAINT has more closely. This was all done to save time. I also separated the shadows and light cast by the subject out into individual layers to have more control over how they look in the final product.
